“The Vagrancy is my artistic home for the long haul. It feels like a family. It’s a place where I regularly connect with close friends who also happen to be incredibly gifted and like-minded artists. It’s a company that takes risks and dreams big. I love having such a wonderful community. The Vagrancy grounds me, inspires me, supports me. “ – Creative Partner, Michal Sinnott

What’s the audition process?
After auditioning for BLOSSOMING via self tape - you will have a Skype interview with a Creative Partner, Resident Artist or Artistic Director Caitlin Hart. It is important to bring all your questions and concerns to that interview after reading over this page in detail.
Is this a dues paying company? Are there work hours?
The short answer:
Yes, we are a dues paying company. No, we don’t have work hours.
The long answer:
Company members will pay $60 dues on the first of the month via credit card online. After 12 consecutive months of active membership in the company you can become a Resident Artist and no longer pay dues. To become an RA, the actor submits a statement of purpose to the Artistic Director. In the past, all interested vagrants have been accepted to RA status. Resident Artists do NOT pay dues – instead, they have jobs and responsibilities to the company.
After four years of being a RA, the actor becomes a Creative Partner and has no official duties to the company.
How many productions do you produce a year?
Our typical season is one full production, BLOSSOMING: a new play reading series and PLAYDATE: an intensive new play development workshop/public reading. Some years we produce an additional full production.
How many times a year do you audition new Company Members?
We audition new company members once a year when the previous years members become Resident Artists.
What if the company ends up just not being my thing?
If the company isn’t your thing or something comes up so you can no longer participate – you can leave at any time. There is no minimum time commitment – just let us know. Additionally, you can join up again the next time we are accepting new members without auditioning.
